Pretty Boy Problems - First Review

The first review for Pretty Boy Problems is in and it's a good one!

From Publishers Weekly:
Spark, humor, and sassy dialogue bring pizzazz to this flirty fast-paced romance. Natural-born charmer Avery Beauregard “Beau” Montgomery can close any deal within 48 hours. The only exception is Delaney Mirabella “Belle” Richards, who won’t let him talk her into his bed. Gorgeous no-nonsense businesswoman Belle has a weakness for “tall, pretty boys with killer smiles, tight bodies, and serious bedroom game,” but she has had her fill of “cotton-candy people.” As Beau pursues seduction and Belle resists, their witty banter (“What do you think I’m thinking?” “You’re thinking I’m a challenge and you’re a little bored”) leads to an easy-going friendship and agreeable working relationship. A family emergency proves Beau is more than a pretty face, and the two heat up the pages with electrifying sex scenes. Grant makes old clichés feel new and funny again, and the protagonists and side characters are all terrific fun. A perfect beach read. (Aug.)Reviewed on: 06/11/2012

Cover for my 2012 release: Pretty Boy Problem

Pretty Boy Problems is the sequel to Heard it All Before. This is the story of Roman's brother Beau - that too-handsome-for-his-own-good scoundrel. What happens when he meets his match? What do you think of the cover?

Sweet Little Lies gets nominated!

It's an awesome day when you get this note from your editor:

Sweet Little Lies has been nominated for an award sponsored by the American Library Association’s The Reading List.

In January 2012, a winner and 4 short list titles will be announced at ALA’s Midwinter conference.
Librarians use the winning title and the short list for a Readers’ Advisory, a go-to list when someone says that they want a “good” book to read in that particular genre.
Some libraries also use the lists to build displays.

Woo-hoo!  It's definitely gratifying when others enjoy your work. "Grown Man Steven" is the gift that keeps on giving!

Sweet Little Lies available on Audible.com and iTunes

In case you are all audio, all the time - Sweet Little Lies is now ready for you. The book is available for purchase and download on iTunes  and Audible.com

Spring is on the way so I'm hitting the road. I'll be touring the country through out spring and summer coming to a city near you. I'll be doing book signings, meeting up with book clubs and hosting a few cocktail events along way. To keep up with me, check out www.BougieLandLive.com for details. I look forward to seeing you!

Today's the day!

Sweet Little Lies is in stores and online today! Go here to read about it. And here to scoop it up. Woo-hoo It's a little crazy. I'm officially a published author with multiple titles. Cray-zee! First Review for Sweet Little Lies

I love good, smart reviews. (Okay, that sounds like I only think reviews are smart if they're good!) Anyway... good reviews not only validate my work but give me excellent insight into how others take my work. Plus reviewers have a way of boiling down a book to a great snapshot. The first review for Sweet Little Lies came from Publishers' Weekly. Check out what they had to say:

A younger man challenges a driven San Francisco career woman's heart and mind in Grant's sassy "he said/she said" romance. Cynical journalist Christina Brinsley's dismal track record with men includes three broken engagements. Steven Williams, a sexy dreadlocked delivery man, tries and fails to convince her that he's trustworthy. After witnessing Christina's bitter breakup with her latest boyfriend, Steven reconnects with her, and they have a fling before he begins grad school at Columbia. Five years later, Steven's a transportation science professor and Christina's a Valiant News Network special correspondent investigating the misuse of funds earmarked for Project Mercury, a transportation research project connected to Steven's foundation, Chi-Wind. Grant (Heard It All Before ) smoothly explores their passionate reunion as their burgeoning trust and affection are put to a serious test. (Feb.)

Now come on, doesn't that sound like something you simply MUST read? Available for pre-order now.

True Confessions

Okay, I'm officially terrible about updating this website. If you want to find out what's going on with me... check out my facebook page or my Black 'n Bougie blog. I have not one but two twitter accounts. My Black 'n Bougie (BnB) account @OneChele and my professional writer account @MGrantAuthor. Find me and say hi!

In the meantime, who read Heard It All Before? We're going to start having some discussions about it. I understand people want to get behind some of the characters and figure out why they do what they so.

My next book, Sweet Little Lies is ready for pre-order online and in bookstores. Hope you love it!
